I used the Cart2Cart migration
I used the Cart2Cart migration service when I switched from CS-Cart to Magento. I had almost 2000 products, many of them having many different attributes (e.g. sizes, colors, models, etc.). I didn't want to create the products all over again as it would be extremely time consuming. I tried exporting my all my products, customers, and orders through CS-Cart via a spreadsheet to import into Magento. The spreadsheet formatting needed between these two shopping carts are very different so simply exporting from CS-Cart and importing into Magento is not possible without editing the spreadsheet, which can also be very time consuming when you have as many products as I do. I began to research ways on how to transfer bulk products from one shopping cart platform to another. This is when I came across the Cart2Cart migration service. They have a migration cost estimator that allows you to check the cost based on how many products, customers, and orders you have. After seeing that my migration would cost less than $100 USD, I quickly signed up for the free preview to see exactly how this service would work. During the preview, you are asked to create a bridge between your two different carts. By creating a bridge, I mean simply uploading a single file to each directory where your carts are installed. They did not charge anything up front or ask for any payment information before using the free preview. The instructions were very clear and easy to follow - even for beginners and before I knew it, my «test» transfer was underway. The preview only allows you to transfer a few products, categories, and customers to get the general idea of how it works and to ensure the process will work with your setup. Once the preview has been completed, you are able to check the results in your new store. If you decide to transfer the rest of your products, you can easily do so by purchasing credits and continuing with your migration. There is no extra work needed. Cart2Cart has provided step by step details on exactly what you need to do. It took me about 5 minutes of work (uploading the 2 files, entering store information, etc.) to setup the transfer and the automation of Cart2Cart about 45 minutes to complete the migration of close to 2000 products, options, pricing, images, customers, newsletter subscribers, tax options, and all past orders. Once the migration started, there was a helpful timer that estimated how long the migration would take so I was able to leave my computer while Cart2Cart did all the work. Once the migration was finished, that was it. I could now use the spare time I have gained by using Cart2Cart to relax (if you're a business owner, you know relaxing is a rarity). I also had a couple pre-sale questions that I emailed to customer support. They were extremely friendly and quick to respond to my inquires with helpful information. I usually do not write reviews but this service is invaluable to online business owners and would like others to know about my success with it in hopes that it will help them as well. This service has saved me countless hours of work and money and I would recommend it to anyone.
